Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of WoadLeyef (the "Service"), operated by SalesPlace (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, accessing, or using WoadLeyef, you agree to these Terms — if you don't agree to them, please don't use the Service.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information, and forms part of these Terms.
1. Who can use WoadLeyef
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use features of WoadLeyef that require one. By registering, you confirm that:
- you meet the minimum age requirement;
- the information you provide is accurate and not misleading; and
- you're legally able to agree to these Terms.
If you're using WoadLeyef on behalf of another person or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on their behalf. We may restrict access where we reasonably believe an account doesn't meet these requirements.
2. Your account
You may create an account using an email address and password, or by signing in using a supported third-party authentication provider such as Google. You're responsible for:
- keeping your login credentials and account secure;
- providing accurate account information;
- maintaining access to the email address associated with your account; and
- all activity carried out through your account, unless it resulted from circumstances outside your reasonable control.
Tell us as soon as reasonably possible if you believe your account has been compromised or accessed without your permission. If you sign in using Google or another third-party provider, that provider verifies your identity for that method — WoadLeyef doesn't receive or store your third-party password. We may require additional verification or security measures where reasonably necessary to protect your account or the Service.
3. Using WoadLeyef
WoadLeyef is a community platform designed for people to share opinions, ask for advice, raise complaints, discuss issues, and let the community express views. You agree to use WoadLeyef lawfully and responsibly. You must not use the Service to:
- violate any applicable law or regulation;
- threaten, harass, stalk, intimidate, or deliberately target another person;
- publish content that is hateful or promotes violence against a person or group;
- impersonate another person, organisation, or entity;
- infringe another person's intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, or other legal rights;
- upload malware, malicious code, or material designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorised access to the Service;
- spam users or distribute unauthorised advertising or promotional material;
- manipulate votes, reactions, scores, verdicts, or other community mechanisms through fake accounts, coordinated activity, automated systems, or other deceptive means;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, or data;
- scrape, copy, or systematically collect content or information from the Service except where expressly permitted by us or applicable law; or
- interfere with the normal operation, security, or availability of WoadLeyef.
We may introduce additional community guidelines or rules for particular features or communities. Those rules form part of these Terms where expressly stated.
4. Content you post
WoadLeyef lets you post in a few different formats:
- Opinion — a view or take the community can agree or disagree with.
- Advice — a question or situation where the community can respond, with one response potentially marked as the best answer.
- Complain — a place to vent, which may fade from the feed after 48 hours.
- Settle — two sides and a deadline, closed out with a community verdict.
You remain the owner of content you create and post on WoadLeyef, subject to any rights belonging to third parties. By posting content, you grant WoadLeyef a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and technically modify that content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, and improve the Service — including through feeds, search, recommendations, replies, notifications, and other functionality.
You represent that you have the necessary rights and permissions to post the content and grant this licence, and you remain responsible for the content you post and the consequences of publishing it. We don't claim ownership of your content merely because you post it on WoadLeyef.
Content you must not post
You must not post content that:
- is illegal or encourages illegal activity;
- is defamatory or deliberately presented as a false factual allegation about another person;
- harasses, threatens, or intimidates another person;
- promotes hatred or violence;
- infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
- unlawfully discloses another person's confidential or personal information;
- impersonates another person or organisation;
- contains malware or malicious code;
- is spam or unauthorised advertising; or
- otherwise violates these Terms or applicable law.
We may remove or restrict content that we reasonably believe violates these rules or creates a risk to users, the Service, or others.
5. Anonymous posts and comments
Some WoadLeyef features allow you to post or comment anonymously. When you choose to post anonymously, your username isn't displayed next to that particular post or comment — but anonymous doesn't mean untraceable. Your anonymous content remains associated with your account internally and is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We may disclose information associated with anonymous content where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of WoadLeyef, our users, or other people. We also can't guarantee that another user won't be able to identify you from the content itself — for example, you may reveal identifying information in what you write, or someone may recognise the circumstances you describe.
6. Voting, reactions, replies, and Settle verdicts
Votes, reactions, best-answer marks, scores, and Settle verdicts represent community input at the time they're made — they aren't guarantees of truth, accuracy, fairness, or consensus, and can be affected by incomplete information, personal opinions, coordinated activity, manipulation, or bad-faith behaviour. We may take action where we identify manipulation or abuse of these mechanisms.
Settle
A Settle verdict is a community feature and is not a legal determination, factual finding, professional opinion, or official decision. Once a Settle has closed, its verdict is final within the Service and can't ordinarily be reopened or changed. WoadLeyef doesn't guarantee that a Settle verdict is correct or fair — don't use one as a substitute for legal, medical, financial, employment, or other professional advice, or as evidence that a legal or factual dispute has been formally determined.
7. Advice, opinions, and complaints
Content posted by users reflects the views and experiences of those users. WoadLeyef doesn't generally verify the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of user-generated content — treat advice, opinions, recommendations, complaints, scores, and community verdicts accordingly. Nothing posted on WoadLeyef constitutes professional advice, including legal, medical, financial, tax, investment, employment, or other professional advice. Where a matter could materially affect your health, safety, finances, legal rights, or other important interests, obtain appropriate professional advice or independently verify the information.
8. Moderation and enforcement
WoadLeyef is a moderated community. We, and where applicable community moderators, may:
- remove or restrict content;
- limit access to particular features;
- restrict posting or commenting;
- remove or limit visibility of an account;
- suspend an account; or
- permanently terminate an account.
We may take these actions where we reasonably believe that you or your content:
- violates these Terms or applicable community guidelines;
- violates applicable law;
- threatens the safety or rights of another person;
- compromises the security or integrity of the Service;
- involves spam, fraud, manipulation, or abuse; or
- creates a significant risk to WoadLeyef, its users, or third parties —
or where necessary to comply with a lawful request or legal obligation. Where reasonably practical, we'll provide an explanation for significant enforcement action. We may use automated systems, human review, reports from users, or a combination of these when moderating the Service.
Reporting
You may report content or accounts you believe violate these Terms. We'll review reports where appropriate, but we don't guarantee a particular outcome or response time.
Appeals
Where an appeal mechanism is available, you may request a review of certain moderation decisions. We may decline to reverse a decision where doing so would compromise another person's privacy or safety, an investigation, legal obligations, or the integrity of the Service.
9. Intellectual property
WoadLeyef and its underlying Service — including its software, design, branding, logos, trademarks, graphics, user interface, functionality, and other materials we provide — are owned by or licensed to WoadLeyef and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law, you may not copy, reproduce, modify, create derivative works from, distribute, commercially exploit, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract source code from the Service, or use WoadLeyef's branding or intellectual property without our permission. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of WoadLeyef's intellectual property to you.
10. Third-party services
WoadLeyef may use or integrate with third-party services, including for authentication, hosting, analytics, communications, payments, or other functionality. Your use of a third-party service may also be subject to that provider's own terms and privacy policies. We're not responsible for services that are controlled or operated independently by third parties, although we'll take reasonable steps to manage integrations used by WoadLeyef.
11. Service availability and changes
We aim to keep WoadLeyef available and reliable, but we don't guarantee the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We may temporarily suspend access where reasonably necessary for:
- maintenance, upgrades, or security;
- technical problems;
- legal or regulatory requirements; or
- other operational reasons.
We may add, modify, remove, or discontinue features of WoadLeyef from time to time. Where reasonably practical, we'll provide notice of material changes that significantly affect how the Service operates.
12. Account suspension and termination
You may stop using WoadLeyef at any time and may close your account through the available account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account where permitted by these Terms and applicable law. If your account is terminated, you must stop using the Service and must not create another account to circumvent a suspension or ban unless we expressly permit it.
Termination doesn't necessarily remove information we're required or reasonably permitted to retain for backups, legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, or other legitimate purposes described in our Privacy Policy. Content already incorporated into other users' interactions with the Service may not be capable of being completely removed in every circumstance.
13. Your data and privacy
You may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information held about you, subject to applicable law, and you may close your WoadLeyef account through the available account settings. Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, when we may share it with third parties, how long we retain it, how anonymous content is handled, how you can exercise applicable privacy rights, and how to contact us about privacy matters.
If you're located in South Africa, your personal information is handled in accordance with applicable South African data-protection law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), subject to its requirements and limitations. Users in other jurisdictions may have additional rights under the laws of their country or region.
14. Disclaimers
WoadLeyef is provided "as is" and, to the extent permitted by law, without warranties that the Service will meet every user's requirements or operate without interruption or error. User-generated content represents the views of individual users, not WoadLeyef. We don't guarantee:
- the accuracy or reliability of user-generated content;
- that a particular opinion, answer, complaint, or verdict is correct;
- that content will remain available;
- that a community vote represents an objective or universally accepted outcome; or
- that the Service will always be available, secure, or error-free.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty, right, or remedy that can't lawfully be excluded or limited.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WoadLeyef isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including, where legally permissible, loss arising from reliance on content posted by another user, community votes, reactions, scores, advice, complaints, or Settle verdicts. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability that can't legally be excluded or limited under applicable consumer protection, privacy, or other laws.
16. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless WoadLeyef, its owners, officers, employees, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and reasonable costs arising from:
- your material breach of these Terms;
- your unlawful use of the Service;
- content you post that infringes another person's rights; or
- your deliberate misuse of the Service.
This section doesn't require you to indemnify WoadLeyef for losses caused by WoadLeyef's own unlawful conduct or for matters that can't lawfully be transferred to you.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify users through reasonable means such as email or an in-app notice. The updated Terms take effect from the date stated in them. Continuing to use WoadLeyef after updated Terms take effect means you accept them, to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you don't agree to a material change, you should stop using the Service and close your account.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. However, if you're located in another jurisdiction, nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or restrict mandatory rights or protections that can't legally be excluded under the laws applicable to you.
19. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other policies expressly incorporated into them, form the agreement between you and WoadLeyef regarding your use of the Service. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law and the remaining provisions will continue to apply. Our failure to enforce a provision doesn't constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it later. You may not transfer or assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written permission, except where permitted by law.
